If I were a piece of furniture and had to reveal my legs, what would that look like?? Well, that's an odd one, but I think this photo best represents me:
We all appreciate form and function when it comes to our furniture. Let's face it, if we have children, then the prettiest and daintiest piece of furniture is probably not for us right now. That's not to say you have to forgo beauty. Indeed not; but you should certainly make sure the piece will hold up to the energy and bounce of kids. That said, I love when a chair or table has a good set of legs.

Solid and sturdy are the building blocks, but then it's time to whittle those legs down to their curves. A bend in the leg brings a fluidity to the piece that makes it more feminine and special. Sure, a Windsor chair can't be beat when you need to reach something on top of your fridge, but does it make your heart swoon? I doubt it...

One of my dream chairs would have to be the Philip Stark "Ghost Chair" modelled after the Louis XVI chair of old. The transparency of it makes it appear to be floating and it looks so pretty with a simple gauzy slipcover over just the seat (no sense in covering up perfection!). Yes, pair four of those with two cream, wooden beauties in a different (but equally feminine) style and you have the perfect "place setting" to compliment any table. 
Just be sure said table can compete. Ensure the table has graceful curves as well. No sense in juxtaposing movie star with hausfrau. That would kind of be like standing myself next to Tina Turner in a miniskirt. Too cruel...!!!
